Sprunt completely redeveloped this once grim, system-built estate while continually reassessing the Masterplan phase by phase as issues such as mix, services, adoption and enabling works were updated as the works progressed. The canal and park to the north and the historic buildings situated on it also had to be taken into account. Residents were closely involved in the design and all existing residents were re-housed. Sprunt worked with tenants in a series of one-to-one consultations on the design of individual homes to ensure the new accommodation fitted the particular needs of each household. A range of choices were developed and these were displayed for discussion.
