Care and Community

A consistent theme in our work over the last 25 years has been a commitment to designing for vulnerable people so that they can be appropriately supported while engaging with and living safely within the community.

Whether it is for people with learning difficulties, visual impairment, physical disability, for the elderly or for vulnerable young people, we have designed buildings which are open and accessible but physically and emotionally secure.

Examples include the mixed community at Queensbury Lodge, where general needs and special needs housing have been successfully combined both architecturally and socially, Linden Lodge, a residential school for visually impaired children, Colindale where a large number of special needs children have been integrated within a new primary school and Century Court where a home for the elderly incorporates facilities for a number of elderly people with learning difficulties and a café and community facilities which are open to the wider community.
